MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR
During the COVID19 pandemic it has become more important than ever that the Nepean GP Network stay connected with the GPs and practices in the Nepean region.
We are faced with unprecedented conditions in our practices, doing the best we can for our patients while protecting ourselves and our staff. GPs are on the front line of this pandemic and the need for physical distancing coupled with personal protective equipment (PPE) shortages have not made this easy.

I am writing to you to assure you that the Nepean GP Network is here to support you.

We are currently:

  • Looking into setting up a buying group to assist financial members with sourcing supplies and PPE;
  • Constantly sourcing and collating reliable information (see links below);
  • Getting in contact with GPs who may be vulnerable to the virus or who have self-isolated to check on their welfare;
  • Providing support to those GPs to understand the new Telehealth protocols and Medicare item numbers;
  • Available to Practice Managers for advice on policies and procedures including Disaster Recovery Plans.

Let’s look out for each other and as we look after our own families and patients. Remember our family of GPs too. We will all get through this as we have a great NBMPHN behind us as well.

Kind regards,
Dr Hany Gayed
Chair
The NGPN will always attempt to keep you aware of the medical issues and information that affect you or your patients.

We have access to information for various sources including the Australian General Practice Network, and peak Consumer associations.

The Board of the NGPN will issue policy statements and press releases on various aspects as they are raised. Because this often involves a consensus view of the whole board there is usually a lag time.

This in fact shows that our view point has been carefully considered.
  • Newsletters: A quarterly update Newsletter from the chair of the Board
  • Publications: A limited but pertinent list of publications are provided
  • Press Releases: Information and views released to the local Media. These are included in Publications
  • Policy Statements: Considered opinion of the Board that provides a position statement of local issues. These are included in Publications
